May 6th, 2014 will see Europe square off in Copenhagen for one of the most important non-sport contests Europe has to offer (some would argue it is the most important full stop.)

This map shows how European countries have faired in the previous competitions (including 2013) which reveals some interesting facts

Contrary to the popular opinion of “The UK never wins” they have actually won Eurovision 5 times, making the United Kingdom joint second of all time along with Sweden, Luxembourg and France. Bested only by Ireland who boast a whopping 7 wins since 1956.
